It’s good to have friends in business

At apm we’re fiercely independent and proud of how our boutique size and tightly held shareholding enables us to react quickly to change.  It’s good to have friends in business though and, for us, a key ‘friend group’ is NZ Realtors. NZ Realtors is a nationwide group of privately owned real estate sales and property management companies that collaborate on issues and opportunities of common interest.  The real estate side of the group sells on average $2 million worth of property every hour, or one out of every five properties sold in New Zealand. The property management side includes a team of over 490 people managing 35,000 properties and collecting $900 million in gross annual rent.

So, if you need a property management company to be locally focused and nimble that’s us and, if you need support for a nationwide business, we’re still the right people to talk to.  We have similar minded nimble friends all over the country.

Kind regards

As someone who has been involved in property management for a long time, and as a property investor too, apm Director Howard Morley says 2023 is already shaping up to be another wild year after a somewhat challenging 2022. So, what does he see happening in 2023 and what’s on the horizon?

Art Auction for apm Storm Affected Tenants

A local NZ artist Amy Burton (who also happens to be an apm tenant) has generously offered to auction off some art to raise funds for storm affected apm tenants in Auckland.

We know families and homes have been devastated by recent storm events and we will be working with Amy and our Property Managers to match funds to tenants who need it the most. We hope to be able to provide a little bit of good news to those who have been affected during this hard time.

If you would like to grace your walls with some fabulous art, then bid for the paintings via the Trade Me link below:

Insurance Process When Property is Damaged

Recent events have highlighted the importance of insurance and submitting timely claims. How our Commercial Team Responded to Extreme Weather Events

The last four weeks with extreme weather events has impacted the commercial sector tremendously, we have not seen the extent of damage that occurred to buildings and businesses before, and the fallout will be felt for many months to come.

Commercial General Manager James Bangerter discusses how our Commercial Property Managers responded to destructive and emergency situations from the initial responses to tenants and owners, to assessing the damages, and then going through the insurance process.
